Anonymous B1G coaches' observations

I know I'm reading those blurbs with Husker colored glasses on, but give me a ****ing break.
Rhule is an "experiment". And whoever the **** they hired at Purdue is cum your pants inducing. Ok. Right..... Who the **** writes this drivel?
It wasn't that bad. And purdue did have a good hire. Who the hell else were they gonna get?
There's another one of these linked at the beginning of this article. In that one, Rhule gets a lot of positive pub, so you can check that out to put the I.V. drip of kool-aid back in the old veins!

The problem is, Purdue got a rental (if he does good) not a lifer.

Either way, he is gone in 3 years.

Unless he is good enough to go to a top teir SEC school or an OSU, UM, USC type, not sure where he would go? And if he goes to one of those, Purdue is in an even better position. Purdue has great facilities, continual investment, infrastructure to succeed, good game day environment. Purdue isn't a bad job. It was when admin wouldn't spend money and didn't care about winning. No longer the case. I do think Purdue upgraded from Jeff. Throw Walters 5-7 mil if he's worth it and he won't go far.

Jealous writer. We're on upward trajectory

Don't flatter yourself. But as you implied, it's a message board. Nothing proper. But no, I don't use a computer to waste time. That's what a phone is for.

Way to change the topic though.

I am never flattered and I never change the topic.

"Where is he gonna go?"

Probably like...the Colts or Packers...where most PU coaches end up going.

Anywhere. Your best coach since Tiller just left of UL

Everything is a better job when you coach in a state where you can't buy cold beer in gas stations and you can still smoke in sports bars.
Brohm left Louisville not because of Purdue. Because of Louisville. Brohm would have left Nebraska for Louisville. But cool.

Between Tiller and Brohm, Purdue had an AD and Prez that didn't care about sports. They tied an arm behind tillers back and he still succeeded. They do now. Not the same job as 5, 10, or 20 years ago. Much better.

Didn’t we just go through this with Brohm?

They know an awakened Nebraska, with all the resources we have, is a threat.

They will downplay it all day long.

Why are you here?

Because I enjoy following Nebraska football? Makes it easier to talk to those around me. To much to ask?
Personally, I enjoy running into fans from other schools; (for the most part). I love to hear the perspectives. I approach it as how to learn forward.

My favorite fanbase in my lifetime is still South Dakota St. Ameer's last play willed run was of legends. But, their fans were absolutely cooler than cucumbers. The guys and I at Woody's. I member buying multiple jackrabbits drinks that night and some even tried to buy me some! Good people, good time!

South Dakota state fans are cool . I went to the NC game this year in Frisco. Friend of mine is an alumni he played QB in the early 2000s. Had a great time with them.

Very Awesome. SDSU is very due. I understand many Nebraska athletes have gone there due to NU undersight. Still, great fans. Would be fun to have a more regular back and forth.

(Now that I think of back and forth, didn't Devaney ask for a rivalry with SDSU?)

SDSU is championship caliber. Best of luck to the 'rabbits this year

If he succeeds at Purdue, he'll take the first better job that he can get. Examples: Oklahoma State if Gundy leaves. Iowa State if Campbell leaves. North Carolina if Brown retires. Houston if Holgorsen leaves. I bet he would jump at the chance to go back to his alma mater Colorado if Sanders leaves.

Ya I like it as well. Something to do this time of year. Don't understand why people get hurt by someone who lives in state getting upset about me being here. Lol

Iowa state isn't a better job... Oklahoma state is the only clear upgrade actually. He can win as much at Purdue as any of those other places. Fortunately for Purdue, not every coach is trying to get to their alma mater. But keep telling me Purdue is a bad job...

The Purdue and Iowa boards are calling, it is past your bed time and time to go home.
They come here because people actually post but then when us Husker fans don't talk about how amazing their program/school are, they get mad.

Imagine thinking PU is a destination job for a brand new young HC. That guy started putting feelers out the day he took that job, which is pretty much what all coaches do unless you are at one of the bluest of the blue bloods.

They are just like anyone else, always looking out for a better gig. I teach at an amazing school with great kids and I still look, because you never know what is out there.

Are you talking about the run against McNeese State?

Ha!

"Oh, so you are a South Dakota Jackrabbit fan, wow, nice to meet you, a lot of Nebraska kids play for you guys...man, I still remember that play that Ameer had, to win the game, he broke like 5 tackles and saved the day for the Huskers, great game, it was probably a heart breaker for you guys though, well great meeting you!"

Walks away and the South Dakota fans are like...

In an earlier post you equated Purdue and Nebraska football coaching jobs, that opinion will not go over well on this board and you should keep those opinions to yourself or post them on the Purdue board.

Nebraska has been horrible for 6-7 seasons, but don’t get that confused with Nebraska football now equals Purdue. No bigten west team has ever won a game that matters on the national stage. The bigten west is easily one of the worst divisions in P5 football and I’m embarrassed as a Nebraska fan that Nebraska has done so poorly since 2015 against its division opponents especially after how well Nebraska did for the first 4 years, Wisconsin excluded.

The west, which I would imagine is soon to be gone when the other schools join, is literally the division where goals and expectations do not exist.

The fans of these teams are like "I just hope we make bowl games 3 out of every 4 years" or "well, we don't play OSU or Michigan or PSU, so looks like we have a shot to get 8 wins if we don't lose to little brother ISU"

Before I grab my pitchfork, which post was that? Where he said Brohm would have left NU to coach at his alma mater and dream job of Louisville? Basically, a compliment to our program that even the top-tiered jobs in all of college football Brohm would have exited to coach at Louisville, because for him personally it was his dream to get back home.

Didn’t we just go through this with Brohm?
Wow

This is pure vitriol from a fanbase that hates purdue. Purdue dog walks iowa every year.

Does iowa have multiple one-sided rivalries? Is isu your only true rival? Can’t imagine wisc fans thinking too much about you, either, and Minn doesn’t even have fans.

There is a bigger picture becoming clear here….

iowa fan, go look up the definition of “opinion” and get back to me. His hypothetical situation is fine for the Purdue board, it isn’t appreciated here. It’s similar to all the iowa fan hypotheticals we read and hear about regularly. Are you prepared for my quiz that will out you as an iowa turd??

Well, I posted nothing about Iowa and didn’t direct anything at you. So, the fact that you decided to go on a weird tirade says something you don’t wanna admit.

Boiler spent the past 2 or 3 years trying to convince everyone that Purdue is some superior job that Brohm would never leave. Now, after Brohm left, he is back making the same claims about the newest coach.
