I kind of enjoyed them, especially Hawkins. He was very complimentary of NU and our tradition but at the same time gave some good insight into the play calls and such. They did make quite a few mistakes like saying that Bando was a former walk on and not mentioning Drew Brown being injured but other than that not too bad. Much better than Ed C.

I agree, Hawkins is kind of a goof but he really talked up nebraska, riley, the fans, etc

I saw some people elsewhere who thought Hawkins was terrible. I actually thought he was pretty good. Certainly much better than listening to Ed Cunningham.

Yes I caught the Bando mistake too and kept waiting for them to notice Drew Brown was out.
But I loved Hawkins. I thought he added some energy and juice to the broadcast. He analyzed plays really well and never once got on his moral high horse about anything. Ed Cunningham is as annoying as it gets. Hawkins was a breath of fresh air

I enjoyed their broadcast up beat ,like to have them back. better by two seasons than ass clown Cunningham !!!!

I felt he was indirectly very complimentary of langs. Made quite a point about how complex our O was. Multiple formations, misdirections, reads, etc. Very interesting. Makes me wonder if this contributes to our inconsistency but once our players get the system down we will roll!

Don't let certain posters on here know that their are others complimenting langs. They will remind you that it doesn't matter unless you beat Ohio state. Lol

I liked Hawkins overall, had a bit of Gruden for me but not as annoying. Spoke very highly of Neb traditions, fans and was refreshing.

Remember this from 2006:

"...even the worst days as a Buff are better than the best days as a Husker."

I do remember... and even though Hawkins said this, I still felt like it wasn't necessarily what he believed, but what he knew he had to say for the benefit of the CU fan base...

I like guys like Gruden, Aikman, Simms, and now Hawkins that point out stuff to make me understand the game better. Most announcers like Cunningham, Millen, etc. are just noise.

Hawkins is hands down better then ED AND MILLEN. he is fun to listen to and compliments things and gives the average fan something to listen to and learn about the game of football. rumor is he is getting back into coaching so we will have to go back to Doris Bourke or some other wanna be that nobody can listen to.

ED & Hawkins are night and day. Hawkins was positive and fun. Two things that have left the ESPN broadcast booth a long time ago. ED is dull and a dark cloud over everyone's programs. It's not just our fan base that hates him. It seems like about 10 to 15 years ago, ESPN starting believing that the more negative the color guy was the better the viewing. Supposedly a lot of those guys want you to hate them because they believe the more you hate them then the more you talk about them then the better their job security
