that the HOL staff think that the offense looked good for most of the game and resembled what we'll most likely see the rest of the season?
Don't get me wrong - I don't think the sky is falling, and I was very encouraged by our overall performance, but the fact that we had only 1 passing attempt of 15+ yards in 25ish dropbacks concerned me and showed that either we don't have enough trust in our QBs and WRs or we were scared of testing OSU's secondary, which was actually their biggest question on defense heading into the season (3 young, first-time starters). I'm not sure if this was a side effect of the game plan, Adrian being too hesitant, or 2 walk-on WRs and 1 former walk-on dominating the snaps behind Wan'Dale. Either way, we need to find a vertical threat, no matter who it is (Manning, Brown, Fleming, Falck, Liewer, etc) because screens to Wan'Dale and 7-8 yard short passes aren't going to beat teams like Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa and Purdue (yes, Purdue).
Also, running Luke and Adrian as much as we did as opposed to the stable of RBs we have doesn't seem sustainable, but I think that was more a result of the only way we were gonna have any success establishing the run against OSU.
