At the first half of the O game, I think I made a statement in a thread that said something to the effect that it was "time to pull the plug on this $h#t-show.

While I still feel that the second half had a lot to do with Oregon pulling back the reigns, BD's defense still showed promise.

Nothing against our current LB core, but I believe major help is on the way....and also, I would not worry too much about a secondary recruit....barring a monumental collapse...can't blame a kid for having fun and taking a few visits. Hell, I would.

Gebbia is a freaking film junkie. Anybody that says he can't challenge next year to start....well, I will just say I strongly disagree.

KJ jr, still has a lot of work to do to get back here. Hopefully he does. He is a kid. Hell, we were all there once. Hopefully the light bulb goes on sooner for him than me, lol.

As far as recruiting goes, Wiconson might be a huge weekend on that front.

Sorry about the meltdown against O. All I can say is, have some patience....especially for those that want MR gone like right now.

I turned the game off at halftime and told my wife in disgust that I was tired of Nebraska football and was ready to just give up. "Oh well," I thought to myself, "at least I got to see the Devaney/Osborne glory years. Now we are just like Minnesota, a team that was once great but now isn't". I knew I was bullshitting myself and would bounce back, so I deliberately decided not to post on here while I was so disgusted. Glad I did.

I have no idea if Riley can turn us around and make us great again. But I do know that we shouldn't rush to call for firing the guy based on one half of awful defense.

I truly hope better days are ahead, even in this season. Before the season started I drank the koolaid and was very bullish on this year's team. I ignored all the warnings from people who are knowledgeable about transitioning to the 3-4. So my high hopes for this season have diminished somewhat. But there is still a lot of football left to be played and we may yet find a way to win the West. So hope is still there.

Stay the course. Don't panic. Keep fighting. GBR

You also ignored all the warnings about our linebacker and CB play. CBs especially. Losing Jones was huge. I still think we'll be okay by B1G play, but we've struggled with assignments and playing fast thus far. I think that will get better with reps. The tempo of the first two teams made it very tough on some guys who were still thinking and trying to apply practice reps to game speed. I don't think, other than OSU, that we'll see the kind of team speed we faced at Oregon the rest of the year. It's a much healthier thing to start the year saying "don't know how they'll be. Don't know how the games will go. Just going to enjoy the ride". I figure I only have another dozen years left to watch NU football. Not gonna waste it worrying too much about the record.

Been working hard the past several years to resist apathy with this program.
Heart is still greater than the mind...
I will probably never be apathetic about Husker football. Grew up in Lincoln. Went to UNL. Help carry goal posts down O street after beating OU in 78. Was in Norman in 71. Same thing as lots of people on here.

All that said... I definitely don't have the same passion for it I once did.
