In about 24 hours and some change we will know the results of this year's recruiting class. Sure, we might add a guy or two after the signing date, but all of our big boy recruits are slated to announce tomorrow.

Color me officially psyched! I think we are going to be pretty pleased with the results. No inside knowledge of course, just a gut feeling. We will probably miss on some guys but very few teams get everyone they want.

So no matter what happens this has been an exciting recruiting year and the future looks bright. So I hope people stay positive even if we lose a couple guys tomorrow.

Go Big Red!!

Several California guys aren't signing until afternoon out here.

I think you should go with adult contempo.

Just for my own curiosity, I copied the current class rankings page. Depending on how things work out tomorrow, I may do some quick and dirty analysis. Just for numbers sake, there are 45 4* or higher 2017 recruits undecided at this time.

Mike Farrell, the rivals guy, has made his predictions here. Interestingly 35 of the undecided are top 250 recruits.

For me this goes back the old adage about not worrying about things I can't control. It must be old age because I don't get as excited when things go well nor as down when they tank. I want to enjoy the events but not live my life in suicide watch mode.

I know what you are saying, but we really won't know the results of the class until these kids are at least a couple years in. I think it is a nice looking class, but it is almost certain that about half of the class with either be gone or be a non factor 4 years from now.

Over/Under at 21 on where we finish in the rankings tomorrow

Amen brother. It is, after all, just a game.

It's going to be tough to finish better than 21 if we lose Calvin. But who knows maybe we get a positive surprise too.
Yeah, it stinks. I was kind of hoping we would get a top 20 finish. Hopefully, we keep Calvin on board and don't lose Thomas. But no matter how it turns out, this is the first year in a long time I can remember us being in on so many big time players this late in the game. Sure beats the Pelini scramble....

I was going to post something similar, but was afraid I would be labeled an old fuddy duddy or not a true fan, or even worse, and old fuddy duddy who isn't a true fan.

Even if he did sign he would transfer in a year, kid is way to indecisive. I think we get Blades and Daniels and 1 surprise (hopefully).

Agreed. I also think we get Michael O. I wouldn't be shocked if we have a WR up our sleeve, like Hawkins or Holmes.

Are any of the guys we're in on deciding on tv? espn or otherwise so we can watch it?

I haven't found anymore information on any other televised ones. Though

Bryan Thompson is announcing at noon at his school
Deommodore Lenoir is announcing at 12:30
and Elijah Blades announces at 3 pm

If it's like most years those will likely be streamed online somewhere.

Huskers.com is supposed to be doing a live feed. I don't know if the will have any rights to show hat-picking videos though. It's being coordinated through the athletic Dept.

Pelini's average class was a 23. Hopefully we score big tomorrow but in all likelihood this class ends up in about the same neighborhood as an average Pelini class

Maybe, but it seems to have a different feel? I believe there are more top ranked players who are a sure thing to contribute; not just ranked for physical ability and some stats, and while carrying possible instabilities.
Really think we will have more of a team feeling; that the work ethic will be there. Hoping any drama will come from youth and some background variables, rather that things going up in smoke and attitude. So we should see a much higher level of success on and off the field. GBR

Are people really going to care if a class is ranked 21 instead of 19?

I get that recruiting matters but to think that 19 is measurably different than 21 seems crazy to me considering these are qualitative ratings that somehow can change even in the offseason.

Now I understand saying I want top 5 vs top 20 but to worry about a 2 spot ranking movement seems a bit silly to me.

I agree ... I don't know why we just can't say that we hope Riley does more with classes ranked in the low to mid 20s than Pelini did rather than trying to manufacture reasons why a Riley ranked class of 23 is better than a Pelini class of 23 ...

I don't care what the ranking is as long as it translates to wins
