Alex Lewis steps up leadership

per omaha.com
The senior rallied the players after lackluster practice this week calling for focus!
That's what a captain does. Thank you AL.

Ive been seeing this from him a lot in the past week. Im starting to see where Riley said he is just a senditive guy. At first it looked like he was just a loose cannon that didnt have heart...but you can tell from these ppsts that id definitely untrue. Nice job AL, this is how you lead.

evidently, not a natural thing for AL---something he has to learn---and, hopefully he has. keep it up.

Isn't this what we Wanted as husker fans.? A coach who is a mentor. More than winning.

It's what I wanted.

I was very unhappy with Lewis earlier in the year but obviously Riley deserves room to make his own decisions. It appears his mentorship is helping. That is a great thing.

Lewis is just one of those guys that we all played sports with. He in fact cares so much and is so in to it that he goes a little off the deep end when his team loses. That is why I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt with both of the incidents. IMO, he's one of those guys that would play on bloody stumps and not realize he was missing his feet until well after the game was over. We need a few more like him on the defensive side of the ball IMO.

We got a W. Funny how winning makes everyone look more positive....
