Does anyone know the skinny on Cook? From what I read, it almost seems like Saban was looking for a reason to boot him. Cook's mom stated that the cause was not illegal and was a first time issue.
IIRC Saban pushed Cook to NU after Cook turned down a greyshirt offer from Bama, in an attempt to keep him from committing to another SEC school. Then in late December when Bama lost a few commits and Cook put up a great Sr season, Saban changed the offer from a greyshirt to a regular scholarship. Cook then jumped ship.
Wonder if we'd go after him again. He has very good size and many people were crazy about him out of HS. Obviously we lost his connections in Bo and TJ so maybe there's nothing there but if you want to clean up your act, Lincoln NE is a great place.

Touché. However, he was a 5.7 3-star with 20+ offers including Bama, a ton of SEC schools, and a few bluebloods. Not like a 5.4 /5.5 star that we are fighting Texas State for.
