Terrific article from Adam Gorney, a Rivals national recruiting analyst. As always, gotta love Gebbia and KJJ stumping for NU as PR men. This quote from Key is particularly great:

"This is Nebraska, it’s Big Ten, it’s Ohio State, it’s Michigan, Michigan State. That says a lot. And it’s only a two-hour, 45-minute direct flight now that Southwest and American Airlines have flights. So what’s the difference between going here to Seattle or here to Texas to play?"

I thought it was a really good article and certainly positive for you guys...but I did get a kick out of that line (in bold)...he should of added "and if I get lucky and the schedules fall into place I might get a chance to actually play one of those schools (during the regular season) once or twice in my career."

Great read. Let's be selfish and get as many talented players in here as we can. Couple that with an appearance (and good performance) in the B1G championship game and momentum could be more than we've seen in a long time around here.

And just think of the people that propped up Bo for all them years?

Oh I don't know, I would think those three teams have as good a shot as any to face us in the B1G championship games in the coming years. ;)

I was touched by the emotion he displayed in talking about his father getting shot. Obviously it is a deep scar. I also like the relationship he has with his team mates that are Husker commits. It sounds deep and a hurdle for other programs to get over.

DISCLAIMER: My sarcasm meter is fully functional but your post made me curious so I looked it up.

Conference schedules are currently set through 2019. Starting this fall, we play Ohio State four years in a row (including three of the years the current recruiting class will be eligible). In 2017, we also play Penn State. In 2018, we also play Michigan and Michigan State. (Odd that we play the Michigan teams only once in the same year without a home-and-away setup, but it is what it is. Good for us against MSU at home, bad for us against UM in Ann Arbor.)

The 2019 schedule is weak from a East-West crossover standpoint aside from tOSU, but it sets up very nicely for a B1G championship berth. That doesn't include other years when the B1G CG could also be in play, or the 2020/2021 schedules when current recruits will be seniors or redshirt seniors. Given that the B1G is currently negotiating their new TV deals, I expect to see more marquee "name" matchups in the years to come.

At minimum, we'll play tOSU/UM/MSU five times in the first three years the 2016 recruits are on campus. If our recruiting momentum remains at its current level, I also expect NU to be a (semi-)regular fixture in the B1G CG. That would lend itself well to the Calibraska "movement" becoming a fully established "pipeline," but only time will tell.

Anyway, just thought I would add some perspective. Carry on with the jokes and such. Smokin
