There's been a lot of talk about massive turnover, but in reality, we are now, with the new class coming in, at 84 scholarships. If Williams, McMullen, and Thurston had not left, we would have needed to lose 2 additional players by the start of fall camp anyway.

Honestly, as far as numbers, we probably have a better roster situation now than at any time in recent memory. The only issue is that it is really young.

2016 Scholarship Roster:

18 Seniors
14 Juniors
19 Sophomores
13 Redshirt Freshman
20 Freshman

52 of our scholarship players are sophomores or below. Hopefully we can make most of them productive. Already, 10 players in the sophomore and below group are projected starters for 2016:

Ozigbo
Morgan
Gates
Farmer
Foster
K. Davis
Akinmoladun
Young
A. Williams
Ober

In 2018, we have the prospect of having as many as 10 players being 3-4 year starters. The four year starters would be Gates, Morgan, Akinmoladun, Young, and Ober.

Without more attrition, the 2018 class will be very small.

Another interesting thing, of the 18 seniors, 6 are walkons who received scholarships later. Reilly, Utter, Dzuriz, and Foltz will start. Foster will play a lot. Fyfe will play mop-up, if we ever have that. Of the remaining 12 seniors, 2 probably won't see the field much (Jackson and Whitaker) and 7 will be starters. We only have 4 Junior Starters this year.
