We have Zach Ertz days left until college football. Who’s the preeminent Husker to sport #86?

Honorable mentions/personal favs?

Johnny Mitchell was probably the best, but man I loved watching Dwayne Harris play.

Beat me too those 2.

Having a hard time thinking of 86 even for the Devaney era..
One that came to mind was Ken Spaeth, a good TE in the early Osborne years. I think Matt Spaeth (recent TE for the Bears and Steelers) is his son.

Dave Ridder? Unfortunately, probably best remembered for a penalty in the '82 Penn State game. Penn State started their "winning" drive (he was out of bounds, dad-gummit!) on their 35 thanks to the 15-yard penalty on our kickoff. I think he's coaching HS football in West Point these days.
