$50,000 A month to "calm everyone down"

Oh and he is gonna "bring back the walk-on program".... bad news for the former Husker on staff who kind of runs that (who has been tweeting UCF and Scott Frost stuff quite a bit lately). What will he do while "#50" is fixing that?

Isn't Kenny Wilhite in charge of the walk-on program? I went to his twitter feed and didn't see a single tweet about Frost or UCF.

Before I just call you nuts and move on, I'd love some context to figure out what the heck you are talking about.

And be Osborne's beard (puppet). I will do it for 5,000. Boom.
Did he mention today that Osborne was going to help him make decisions?

Was this discussed in any press conference or press release today?

His likes, not that it matters. And we all the sudden don't care how much someone is paid? That's a pleasant change. I have never cared. The good preacher is always very concerned, therefore the board is "full" of people that care about salaries Smokin

You are right. I am sure Osborne being on campus last Wednesday and Thursday had nothing to do with current events

OK then...so how does that fact translate to Rimington being an "Osborne puppet" or that Rimington is going to get involved in the inner-workings of the football program (walk-ons)? If you could connect those dots, that would be great.

Where's the information that says he will do what Osborne says? Also why do we think that anything Osborne might do is bad?

So much damn negativity these days I don't know if this board is healthy for "fans" or not.

Yep. It is hard to believe what is being written on here. Can you imagine a recruit or their parents reading this board? Goes back to the old saying if you can't say anything nice......

I believe his predecessor was paid $100,000 a month to "get everyone riled up"....so a bargain by that standard.

All Osborne’s ever done is be responsible for a 70% plus winning percentage in football under his watch as coach, Handpicking his successor, and his time as AD. Without Osborne’s guidance in football, Nebraska has barely managed to get above .500... I think they are doing the smart thing by consulting with the man.

They should have just "officially" brought him in. Pretending is cool too I guess.

As an outsider who trusts Osbornes judgement I would guess Rimington is being paid to steady the ship and keep it off the rocks until a new AD is selected. In other words just reassure everyone that Rome isn't burning get a new AD and move on.

Just saying!

That's pretty much exactly what they said.

Yeah the guy is getting paid as an interim AD, wouldn't the OP want the same?
Chancellor Green isn't exactly eloquent but the real of this situation is that DR took a leave from his foundation gig to jump into a situation that could use some stability. His "calm things down" message hits the mark at this juncture.
I for one am thankful that a guy like Dave has stepped up to the task, so many want to criticize but I'm just thankful at this point. This is like a episode of The View. Carry on!

This is a really good pick..he has experience and is enough removed from the program where he can make some objective decisions

I'll take Dave at his word. We have no reason not to.

Are you honestly chastising him for a 50k salary? What about FADSE and his millions?

Please tap the brakes.
