42 days: Best #42 in Husker history

Murtaugh is the runaway choice on this one.

Only other guy that comes to mind is Jeff Mills - a good player who carved out some time in the NFL.

Jeff Mills would be runner up despite Mike Coyle kicking 2 FG winning MVP in the Sugar Bowl..

Murtaugh is the tops at this number.

Sorry, wrong Murtaugh.

Honorable Mention...
- Early career TE Matt Herian.
- Academic All-American LB Sean Fisher. Skipped his final season of eligibility (after injuries) to enter medical school. Story on him from a few months ago.
Additionally, at about 3:24 in this clip, Sean Fisher is involved in a play in which Braxton Miller is injured and knocked out of the game, inserting Joe Bauseman into the Ohio State lineup and changing the course of the 2011 season...

- FS Troy Watchorn. That man went through some dark times after his father died and eventually earned a starting role on the 2000 Huskers, leading the team in interceptions.
