40 wins in the regular season. Do people believe thats the benchmark for NU to get a regional in Lincoln? Not including the Big Ten tournament. I think it's doable for this team.

It's definitely doable and I think it would lock up hosting a regional. This is highly speculative but gives an idea of where the RPI would land:

The NCAA is always looking for northern hosts when it comes to a regional so yes I do believe 40 wins is the key since that will include a high RPI.
A few other things that will be at play when hosting a regional are RPI, location, facilities, strength of schedule, record versus last ten, winning the season conference title, and a decent showing in the conference tourney. Not all of those are required but seem to be the metrics the committee looks at when assigning regional hosts.

Might be 41, but 40 could do it. honestly depends on how we do at the B1G tournament at that point. If you look here we're predicted at 40 wins and 16 final RPI. Obviously a LOT of baseball left and we have to perform but.. :

We're probably rooting for teams like indiana and MSU to struggle in the B1G since we don't play them and we do play every other top team. Iowa beating indiana this weekend is good for us. Beyond that... keep winning. Dominating home field will NOT hurt anything.
Be VERY good to finish off Texas tomorrow as I could see them winning the Big 12.

40 would be a near lock to host IMO. To many previous success of regionals in Lincoln for them to ignore of we get to the 40 mark.
