Hard to believe none of the press had the courage to ask anything other than softball questions today Namely:

How short a leash is Sims on this week? Or, how many interceptions will it take before you would consider making a change? Or, after the QB play last week, has there been more emphasis this week on getting Haarberg and Purdy ready? Do you think a QB with a proven history of throwing interceptions can be coached up so it doesn't happen? You said when asked about Sims' interception history you couldn't believe he had a history of that because he didn't throw any in spring, do you not look at how much a QB turns the ball over when looking at getting him from the portal?

You mentioned if you can't take care of the football you can't play for us. What is the threshold of interceptions and fumbles before a player can't play for us?

The Panthers were notorious for turnovers, like they had 18 by mid-December 2021. Is there something in your coaching scheme that makes avoiding turnovers difficult?

Do you think your comments about Grant fumbling in the scrimmage may have encouraged Minnesota to try to strip the ball from him?

Why was Ervin the starter, but didn't start and Grant had two more carries even though Ervin had a significantly YPC than Grant? Do you do player analytics during the game? Do you ever make personnel recommendations, or is that entirely up to your assistants?

Are there ANY means applied to make players accountable for false starts?

Who was responsible for calling three consecutive pass plays the next series after NU ran the ball 9 out of 12 plays for an 80 yard drive. Was that you, Coach Satterfield, someone in the booth, a computer??? Any regrets about that decision?

Will you consider giving Gottula a shot at starting LT to get better pass protection?

What exactly is Nebraska's offensive identity?

None of those guys are gonna ask Rhule those questions, and he wouldn't answer them anyway.

It's a press conference, not a deposition.

The media saves those kinds of questions for the 4th or 5th year of a failed regime. Let's hope we never hear those questions with Rhule. 😂

Bro, you know doesn't work for the reporters, right?

Fans be like "what makes you think the coaching staff hates the fans"

Haha...I wonder!

Maybe they should have asked something like "Would you fire yourself right now?"
Here is Rhule's response to that reporters question, "what newspaper did you use to work for?"

Back in the day, Mike Kelly of the OWH asked Tom one too many touchy questions. Last I heard of Kelly, he was doing the want ads for the weekend rummage sales. /s.

Any reporter that would ask Rhule that would be doing, as they say, "a resume enhancer."

Sims and Grant are what they are "turnover machines"! Watched the Wyoming/TT game and better coaching top to bottom. Don't ask question that you already know...like how was the team spirit after a lackluster offensive performance! Lmao!

At the time NU was starting Taylor Martinez and Ameer they were the #1 and #4 ALL-TIME fumble leaders in D-1 football.

Ameer was a great runner, but he only coughed it up when it really counted...

of course

it's journalism not d*ck massaging
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you get too tough on Rhule and good luck with gaining any access to the Big Red football program. Getting after Trev's hand picked selection is not well advised.

Remember kong, its about the bucks and Trev has 74 million of them invested in his head man.

The only way you can get away with a brutal analysis is by doing a Dirk and citing documented results. Right?

Kiddos, we just have to realize there are layers of protection in place before Rhule is put on any type of hot seat.

Not only would Rhule's job be in jeopardy, down the road, but as we all know, when the head coach goes away, so does the A.D.

It's a system built in within a system. It's pretty tough to crack in Lincoln, NE.

Any writer stupid enough to take Rhule on this early, (1 game) would be ridden out on a rail. And deservedly so.

nobody's calling for his job

he's the preacher in the coach's office for at least 5 years barring something seriously catastrophic

would be nice to see them play well this weekend. or at some point this season.
