To my understanding.
28 degrees at game time.
Not sure if that is wind chill or actual temp.
There are 35,433 students at Minnesota and this is the best they could come up with for their StudentU broadcast?
Especially given their relative success in recent years.
EDIT: Went to take a look because I thought maybe Gopher hockey was still alive and that may be a reason for poor interest. Didn't even make the tournament.
College hockey is interesting. Seems like every year, a Top 4 national seed loses in the first round. This year, two of them lost: #3 Minnesota State and #1 St. Cloud State. One of those sports where every matchup during the season is in the context of a weekend series, then it's all single elimination in the postseason. Really lends itself to upsets (that's how UNO was able to make the Frozen Four in 2015: RIT beat #1 overall seed Minnesota State).

Well that's a good start.
Frederickson was absolutely lights out against us last year in that cold Sunday game. That was the game when I knew our season was going to shit (already felt that way, but the boneheaded baserunning plays when we actually had a decent pitching performance was rough).

This is just snowballing now, but we can't let ourselves get complacent. With a doubleheader, don't want to have to use too many bullpen arms or let Minnesota gain confidence for the second game. Plus let's not forget Sam Houston State's comeback from being down by more than this margin.
Glad to see Nate overcome that awarded timeout call by the Minnesota batter while in his windup. Radio guys made it sound like time shouldn't have been awarded and it affected Fisher for a few pitches.
The error was immediately after the radio duo mentioned it had been a clean defensive game for both teams. #timing
