2019 Blue Chip Ratio - National Title contenders

There are about 10 other teams that have recruited as well or better than Clemson and 5 or 6 teams that are just behind them. Why hasn't any team besides Alabama been able to match Clemson's success?

Not sure where you're trying to go with this. Clemson recruits at an extremely high level and routinely lands "blue chip" recruits. 3 or 4 top ten classes over the last 8 years or so.

Wiscys been knocking on the door of Big champs for years, and I can't think of a time theyve out recruited us.
But they have identity, they recruit well to it and they develope players, Barry stole the script.

Now, SF brings an identity with him, we are recruiting very well, better fits for our schemes, and he's one helluva coach, playcaller and salt of the culture, with a like staff.
We are in much better position than Wiscy, its only a matter of time.

We lost 7 bowl games in a row because we played the 7 best teams in college football, or close to it. 95% of other teams would not only lose all of those games, but get destroyed in the process. I think out of those 7 games, 3 ended up being the national champion and another 4 finished #2. It's just insane the level of competition we faced in those bowl games.

Those are the kinds of games we're worried about winning and hence the analysis of the BCR here. No one cares about rolling over the lesser teams...they more or less.expect Frost to achieve that.and quite frankly if he doesn't then the BCR analysis here doesn't matter

The biggest thing that's going to help Frost in the near term is the fact that OSU lost Meyer.

If he manages to get us into the conf champion ship game he's not likely to face some Urban Meyer death star caliber team

15 other teams have similar recruiting as Clemson and only 1 other team has had the same level of success. Why is that?

90% of teams on that list can't beat Bama or Clemson. Those 7 bowl games we lost was like playing either Bama or Clemson each year because every team we faced finished either #1 or #2.

No one was really saying that when they about ran TO out of town for not winning one that matters. It'll be the same for Scott someday too. He's going to have to figure out winning three or four really tough games in a row because we expect Nebraska to regain it's place.

No one cares what other teams can or cannot do vs Bama and Clemson. That's for their fan bases to figure out

Cheating by a tenth of a point (let's call it blue chip/almost blue chip), NU has 19/27 (minus Bland, plus Green), or 70% recruits that are 5.7 or higher for 2019. Not the magical blue chip percentage, but certainly good enough to win a lot of games in the coming years. In 2018, 15 of the 25 recruits were 5.7 or higher (60%), four of those are not now (or were never on) on NU's roster.

We seem to get better play out of our 3 stars than 4 stars. I'd much rather take a high 3 star you know has the right attitude vs a 4 star who has questionable character or doesn't try and washes out after a year.

Two takeaways from this, our class last year finished high, but fewer lows, the regular highly rated players got us there, thus making the quality level very high.
Second, gone, thankfully, are the days of getting shots at blue chips, culture fits or not.

SF loves players who love to win, love to compete, the more sports, the better, and he goes after those guys, great culture fits.
Oldjar brings some good points too, why and even more, how did Clemson go from close to bcr status, to leading the pack, and why also does bama do what it does.
It's not just jimmies n joes, ask usc.
To be the best, you need the best jimmys n joes, the best culture, the best coaches.

So far,two out of three, and a close and closing third piece.
