Which will be the greatest area of improvement in 2018? Why? and Which area needs to improve the most to be successful not for just 2018 but the future of the program?

1. Quarterback
2. Running Back
3. Receivers
4. Offensive Line
5. Defensive Line
6. Linebackers
7. Defensive Backfield
8. Special Teams

I want to see an improvement in the following areas:

1. Attitude/Confidence/Body Language (we lost several games before kickoff last year... we lost a few more by giving up when the going got tough)

2. Team Speed/Strength/Athleticism - it is crazy far this has fallen

To answer your question, however... I think it starts up front. We need good offensive and defensive lines to be successful. A really good offensive line can mask issues at QB and at the skill positions. A really good defensive line can mask issues in the secondary if they are getting to the QB.

From a strictly 2018 perspective.. I think the Running Backs will benefit most from the change in coaches and the scheme change. I also think the entirety of the defense should benefit of the coaching change.. based just on Diaco's dumpster fire being gone.

I want the players to be on "F" each and every game till the clock runs out.

Defense. Period.

The offense was unreliable last season but rarely a no-show. The defense however had several no-shows. I want to see a team that doesn’t quit.

.
Agree. Watching the players jog out the tunnel with heads hung was depressing.

I still remember how excited to play Texas was when we played them in 2006 despite the rather miserable conditions. Road game, in the freezing cold, hostile environment and their players loved it. Players jumping up and down, into the game. That's step 1 in what I'm hoping to see.

Looking at that list, everything but receivers can improve drastically. If even only a few of those positions see improvement, I think we'll have a solid year. If I had to guess, I'd say the offensive line will be most improved just because of how bad they were, and I actually think we have some decent talent that just wasn't being coached properly.

Running back. I’m hoping for a repeat of Helu, Burkhead and Abdullah starting this year.

Defense line would be a welcomed sight as well.

Coaching!!!

I’d say defensive line. We’re going to see some rough quaterbacking, don’t see how anyone could think we’ll see improvement there..

Statically, Nebraska will see their biggest areas of improvement in the running game and turnover creation.

1. The system is conducive for creating a lot of havoc and confusion for opposing defenses by attacking the field both vertically and laterally on every play. This allows multiple ball carrying options on any given snap, and it maximizes deception. They will likely run for another 100 to 125 yards per game on average.

2. Coach Chin coaches the art of forcing a fumble. His defenses and position units have excelled for years. Its more than just coincidence. They also play a very aggressive scheme built on creating havoc in the backfield. The objective is all about forcing turnovers and negative plays. This leads to more possessions for that dynamic offense. It does come with a price. There is some gambling in place. If you gamble wrong, you can give up some big plays. But overall, you will see a significant rise in takeaways.

From a position standpoint, the biggest area of improvement will occur at Linebacker. Nebraska is raising their talent level with the additions of Will Honas and Breon Dixon.

I'm not ready to say the offensive line is going to make a significant jump, but the scheme is a lot more forgiving. The linemen responsibilities are less complex, and the deception in the backfield helps the line as much as the line helps the backfield.

Modest improvements in each phase - just minimizing pre-snap penalties would be productive.

Running game will easily be the greatest improvement.

For future success, we better recruit lots of defensive studs, because the defensive philosophy is going to get exposed against teams with better talent.

For 2018, the offense won't be polished enough to play a lot of catch up football, and if your defense is giving up the big play and the offense is going three and out, it will create a bit of a snowball effect, and I don't think the fans are going to handle that scenario well at all.

Yeah, I can see it might be a rough business for awhile. But after the last three years we've got nowhere to go but up.

Linebackers are going to be the most improved, because they're going to be able to attack instead of react

offensive line because it's a no-brainer

And post-snap, totally unnecessary personal fouls that always seemed to come at the wrong time (like the horsecollar in the Texas CCG).

The health of my liver during the season. Last year a game equaled a sixpack+ 1 per quarter to ease the pain, 2 to wallow in my sorrow afterwards

1. Mental attitude of the players and Team
If you think you can or if you think you can't your right.

2. Offensive and Defensive schemes that work. None of this Diaco "Magic". Or the Riley Pro Set schemes that requires years to develop.

3. making the right decisions on the field , both by the players and the coaches.
4. Playing the kids that give us a chance to win.

I won’t pick by position, but I will be the defense as a whole. Hell, there is no way for them to be worse. But all aspects of this team should be a step, notch, level above (how ever you want to word it) better then last year. Yes, even the offense. I suspect the OLine will be improved and allow some time and create some holes for the RB/QBs. The WRs, that might be the only push. Walters/Williams are both good position coaches and I don’t see a huge jump coming there.

It better be OL or it will be a long season.
It is going to be a long ass summer waiting for the season to start...but at least I am excited for the games again. The last few years I was excited for the partying for the games...for me that is an improvement.

And you are right, the OL better get better!
