Ten years ago, the 2007 Huskers totaled only 13 sacks and 74 tackles for loss in 12 games. There is an obvious correlation between bad defenses and low totals showing disruption behind the line of scrimmage. That 2007 team had the lowest sack and tfl totals in Husker history. It was also the worst defense in Husker history.

The 2017 team now only has 1 sack and 5 tackles for loss in 2 games, and the Huskers aren't facing run heavy teams that might only attempt 20 to 25 passes per game, thus limiting your sack chances.

Here's where those numbers are downright frightening:

- Nebraska's opponents have attempted 101 PASSES, thru 2 games - The Huskers also only have 5 QB Hurries on the season. That means 95 out of 101 passes thrown by Husker opponents have come when the QB had no concerns about pressure in their face.

- Husker opponents have totaled 166 snaps in two games. With only 1 sack and 5 tackles for loss. That means 160 plays have gone for some form of positive yardage.

The Huskers are currently on pace to barely beat the sack record, but they could potentially shatter the season low in tackles for loss. With 10 games remaining, the Huskers are barely on pace for 30 total tackles for loss.

To put this in perspective, Ndamukong Suh totaled 24 tackles for loss all by himself in 2009.
