The athletes on the field in the championship game in no way compare to what we put on the field. Also Rex Burkhead is one of our top recruits over the last 10 years...we aren't going to build a team of those guys, if we did we would be called Alabama. We played one elite team this season, and OSU could have scored 90 on us. I believe we will win again because we have the insane desire to spend hundreds of millions to do it. Most institutions have the moral compass to not throw so much money at such a stupid endeavor. The bluebloods have the alumni and the fan bases to continue to fuel this ridiculous fervor. Eventually, probably after Riley retirement in 2018 we will shell way to much money into program upgrades and a new hot coach. Our impatience as a fan base lead to Solich being fired, Cally being fired before his best recruiting classes even saw the field in favor of a mentally ill hothead who won with Cally's recruits, and then because of our insecurity was given a massive and unfair contract that has restricted us today. Alabama's fan base did the same thing from 1991 until 2006, but eventually their craziness got them Saban, who at the time was viewed as Satan.

It was always a joke. Bama's D is somewhat in the same ballpark as our 95 team but special teams aren't even in the same galaxy and I'm not even sure Bama has more than 2 starters that starts for 95 Nebraska and both of the ones that would are wideouts.

Heck their starting QB wouldn't even be the #1 option for the scout team let alone suiting up on gameday.
