Funny that now some people think where we finish in this is significant. I distinctly remember the criticism Bill Byrne got when he talked about competing for the Directors Cup. People at the time said nobody cares about the Directors Cup and the only thing that matters is football.

I think something similar was in LJS today: If Husker football won the division and basketball made the tourney, they would be about the same spot in the Directors' Cup standings but people would feel a lot better about the year.
