Mike Waldron getting the first midweek nod this week, Wednesday's starter TBD. I wonder if this means Matt Waldron will be our new Sunday starter for Minnesota?

Options for our Wednesday starter from the OWH article linked above:
- Matt Waldron, who has started all 3 "bullpen games" that have resulted in losses in 4 such games.
- Ethan Frazier
- Zack Engelken
- Andrew Abrahamowicz

The last 2 guys are more long-term options to be starters. Engelken threw on Sunday, so he probably wouldn't go long if he started Wednesday.

Lineup Changes for Nebraska
(9) Hellstrom enters at C, (6) Roskam moves to 1B, (3) Schreiber moves to RF, (7) Hallmark moves to LF, Hagge exits the lineup
(2) Luckey moves from the 8-spot in place of Hagge.
(8) Acker moves up a spot in the order.
Among catchers...
Roskam gets a break from the crouch, Wilkening stays at DH, Hellstrom gets his first start. Hellstrom hits lefties pretty well.

This is Hellstrom's first start at catcher.

Very good video stream
but it's about two minutes behind
the audio broadcast....
The solution to that is to listen to the audio through your phone. There's enough lag for me that it almost matches!

That 6-run 5th should have been over after a run or two. What a debacle.

I’m honestly just watching the live stats at this point and that’s painful enough.
To update...
- Bases loaded, 0-out grounder to Luckey, throws in time to home for the force but Hellstrom stepped off the plate.
- 2-strike hit-and-run whiff, Hellstrom throws in time to get the runner at 3rd, but the runner slaps the ball out of Luckey's glove. The umpire was positioned in front of 2nd and didn't have an angle on the play, so he thought Luckey just dropped it. Luckey should have been more animated to sell what happened.

Edit: The error attributed to Luckey on that first play should have been on Hellstrom. Gotta stay on the plate.

We just didn’t grind. It’s all about grinding. We have to be the grindiest grinders in baseball if we are going to be a good team. It all starts with finding grinders on the recruiting trail

Oh, I can't help but stick it out to the end.
If I expect them to keep competing...
then they can expect me to still be here cheering.
It's what I do :)

Nice to see Keegan Watson get that shutout inning. I do think he will be a pretty decent pitcher down the line.

Well, that's probably the ballgame (if 11-2 wasn't bad enough already). Bases loaded, no outs and leave the AB with a snap throw to get Repinski out and K swinging by Luckey. Fly ball in front of the RF warning track by Schreiber ends T7.

Goonies never say die! ;)
I know this will be controversial...
I didn't see The Goonies until I was about 23. Just didn't get what the big fuss was about it.

Luckily this post is buried in the game thread for a game that is currently an 11-4 deficit. Now all I need is for the Big Red to make a comeback so there are more visitors to which this stance can be exposed.

For those not watching anymore, Altavilla just drew a fantastic "delayed walk" haha. Didn't realize it was a full count when a 4th ball was delivered, prepped for the next pitch, and quite a bit of time passed before the umpire called time and told Angelo that last pitch was ball 4.

The number of strikeouts last night was crazy. The approach with runners in scoring position was bleh. Man I miss DVH. We have way too many of these games where our offense flat disappears. I sure hope they get things turned around quickly.

You speak the truth but I have a hard time pinning a loss on the bats in a game where we walked eight opposing batters, hit two and tossed two wild pitches.

So to sum it up we are a cluster in every phase of the game Laughing
