Not complaining, but two plays on that series "didn't look like football". The messed up Newby run and the TD looked like a busted play. The Westy fumble could have been bad too. Glad to see them running the ball.
Langsdorf needs to train Tommy to just airmail the ball to the sideline when the protection breaks down like that. That curl 10 yards deep into the backfield will cost us points against better competition.
Yeah, I agree with the poster above who said Newby runs like he is afraid of contact. I find that hard to believe, but I'm not sure how else to explain his tentativeness.
That last Newby run was terrible. Didn't follow the blocker, just kept running parallel to the line, gets dropped for no gain. He had 3-4 yards up field easy.

I think he is trying too hard to be AA. He just needs to be Newby. I thought he was hitting the hole a lot quicker against S. Alabama. He has kind of regressed on that front the last two games.
