I think it is fairly obvious this thing is going turn around, and it will be a quick snap from bad to mediocre to good in a few game stretch. We have three players as true freshman who are about as dynamic of athletes as we have had since 2008-2009...the team is young and will score a ton of points soon enough...the defense is going to have to be rebuilt, and will likely give up points as oregon's defenses did...I think our mindset is going to have to leave the idea that we will have 2009 NU, Michigan, Michigan State...type of defenses. It just isn't going to happen.

Biggest problem isn't HC, it's DC. The D should be getting it already, it takes time and the right players to get the O started, but the D isn't that "different" and should have already been up and running. They need a much better DC.

Too early to tell about the DC ... but in general if you have a persistent problem with one of your coordinators underperforming then the problem is with your head coach

Since 2002, 5 Top 7/8 rankings and 6 Top 20 over 15 seasons. Yes, at Blue Blood schools, he likely ends up like Lloyd Carr. Of course, that change wasn't all roses for Michigan.

And in 2013. Iowa won that game 38-17.

Under Frost we are not going to have a standard dominant defense EVER. We have limited recruiting points to put into our team. And Frost is going to spend those on the offensive side of the ball. The best product will be a top 40 in ypg, top 25 in ppg, and top 10 in turnovers. Frost envisions a team that scores so quickly and so often that it forces the other offense to play out of its element. Teams play with desperation knowing they can't fall behind or they will be down 32-0 by the middle of the 2nd quarter...that was how Oregon used to bury one team after another. So teams play more careless, they throw deep on 3rd and long instead of playing field position, the go on 4th down on their half of the 50, they abandon the run game...take more chances on low percentage plays down the field. The defense plays a more confusing style, aggressive, jam coverage, blitzing, stripping, going for picks because if they give up a score it just means their offense gets the ball again. It was a field goal away from working at Oregon and certainly can work here. It will take a while though.
