...at the age of almost 10, I became a Husker fan....watched the Michigan game on tv(black and white) and was hooked...cried when we lost to OU...loved it when we beat Miami in the now defunct Gotham Bowl....53 seasons ago.

Let the season begin.
 
I remember watching the Gotham Bowl. Newspaper strike in NYC. No one in the stands. Snow flurries. Cold. George Mira was the Miami QB. Huskers won 38-36--if my memory serves me. No one foresaw what was to come from that beginning......To the Bobfather!

About the same age for me, but different era. The 1983 team was the first where I knew player's names and personalities, and followed closely. A friend's sister was dating a player, and we got to meet him and some others. Watched the '84 Orange Bowl at his house, and still remember everybody screaming and crying when the two point conversion fell dead.

Here's to all the 10 year olds watching today, and hopefully the great memories they will have in the future.
