While I would like to win 3 of 4 (or better) this weekend and last night was obviously a good start, I'm still taking the approach that being 4-7 or better after the first three weekends is my expectation and anything above is gravy. As I hope Erstad reminds the players today, every game starts 0-0 and there will be a new pitcher on the mound. Let's see how the young players handle a blowout win.Good start. We need to go 3/4 this weekend.
Agreed, I do feel it is possible though for this team. Oddly enough Chad still has a 0.00 ERA since all 5 of those runs were technically unearned. While I would like to win 3 of 4 (or better) this weekend and last night was obviously a good start, I'm still taking the approach that being 4-7 or better after the first three weekends is my expectation and anything above is gravy. Luensmann hit a wall after a few innings, and we had no production in the middle innings.
Can't please everyone, right?
Yeah, and we knew Chad would only go about 50-60 pitches, so it shouldn't be a shock that he hit the wall when he did.Agreed, I do feel it is possible though for this team. Oddly enough Chad still has a 0.00 ERA since all 5 of those runs were technically unearned.
Understood. I think after this weekend we win maybe 1-2 games until our home opener. This early in the year I’m just wanting consistency with this team. I do like that we are playing tough competition even if it means a less than desirable record to start the year.Yeah, and we knew Chad would only go about 50-60 pitches, so it shouldn't be a shock that he hit the wall when he did.
I'm mostly trying to temper my expectations because I wouldn't be shocked if a few of the 7 games following this weekend (excluding Sam Houston State) were absolute massacres similar in what we did last night when the wheels fell off for UC-Riverside.
