05 April 2019 Game 24: Purdue at Nebraseball (NU wins 17-0)

Home games.
Makes me inactive.
Can't cheer, spit seeds, b.s. with the friends, and do updates
all at the same time.
I'm human too!

Remember the Friday game will be televised in Nebraska on NET.

Well crap. That was a long day of work. I’ll throw some Twitter updates in the thread when I get home.

Waldron's perfect game is broken up by the leadoff batter in T3 :)

Then he loads the bases with a single and HBP.

First 8 Purdue batters all saw first-pitch strikes.

Huskers strand 1 in B3.

Waldron concedes a leadoff single, then leads the double play and retires the next batter.

What is game score based on and calculated
A starter is given 50 points then a short list of things will add points and another short list of different things will subtract points

Game score was designed by Bill Smith, he who created sabermetrics.

Adding that D1Baseball uses game score and ranks the top 30 pitchers every game day. I've been keeping an eye on that.

I am one happy Husker fan tonight!
Now take the series Saturday.
Think the Boilermakers will be ready for a game tomorrow?
Not the time for a letdown.
Go Huskers!

I’d like to see a sweep. I know I know, it’s baseball and sweeps are hard, but I’m greedy.

Matt Waldron's ERA now improved to 1.64. He's pitching a batting average .203 to opponents.
Three walks and (are you ready for this?) 48 strikeouts. Woof!

Noticed Matt Waldron put sleeves on in the middle of the game. Nate "Mr. No Sleeves" Fisher must be disappointed in him. :D
