I wonder if he got more money, just didn't like Lincoln or was "encouraged" to find a new job. Whatever the situation, good luck to him and I hope his health now is in great shape for the future.
Sure. Chinander could also be OLB/DC and we could go get a DC or another position coach, or a ST guy. A lot of potential moves, but most likely they just try to fill DeWitt’s slot as is.Quick question: Do we have someone (GA, analyst or other) to work specifically with the kickers? Someone who actually was a specialist in college and/or the pros? OLB and special teams is not a natural fit to combine under one coach's job description other than you should have several OLBs covering kickoffs, of course, because they should also be fast and good at shedding blocks and bringing down runners.
In other words, can we find a full-time OLB coach, and then also find someone to coach up our kickers/punters, while in the meantime assigning special teams to someone who knows and understands how to get players to pursue and tackle in the open field? That was three duties assigned to one person, if I'm not mistaken.
Any chance we can snag Diaco away from Purdue?
Does that mean the ladies are missing their "pretty boy"?Any chance we can snag Diaco away from Purdue?
I just don't know what to think of this. We have heard Frost won't make any staff changes because he is too loyal. But it seems odd Dewitt would move laterally with a possible pay cut on his own.
And if he did move on his on, why would a veteran coach like Brown want someone so horrible. And Mac has to be good because we have been told a number of times he made a big impact in a short time at NC.
So confusing,
Could be a lot of reasons. For example, he could have family reasons for wanting to be in North Carolina.I just don't know what to think of this. This really is kind of mind boggling. I know he fought through some shit this year, that could be big factor in the struggles of his positions. Since here his units have been horrible, even at UCF they were decent in certain areas or had a super star player, but nothing great. Why would UNC want him, at best it seems he is a lateral move from what they had. It seems like it is a down grade for him, and Im assuming he has to take a pay cut.I wonder if he got more money, just didn't like Lincoln or was "encouraged" to find a new job. I like the idea of moving Chin to a lesser position and hiring a proven DC.Sure. Chinander could also be OLB/DC and we could go get a DC or another position coach, or a ST guy. A lot of potential moves, but most likely they just try to fill DeWitt’s slot as is.
A lot of the top program use co-DC titles to lure and pay top assistants.I like the idea of moving Chin to a lesser position and hiring a proven DC.
IMO, there is probably less than a 0% chance that Chins is being demoted and we're going to hire a DC to replace him.I like the idea of moving Chin to a lesser position and hiring a proven DC.
Goes without saying, but some make it mandatoryIMO, there is probably less than a 0% chance that Chins is being demoted and we're going to hire a DC to replace him.
Yes, GA for kickers per OWH story about IWCC walk-in kicker.Quick question: Do we have someone (GA, analyst or other) to work specifically with the kickers? I'd be OK with that. Is Barrett?Yes, GA for kickers per OWH story about IWCC walk-in kicker.
Maybe give Rudd special team duties and go with co DC duties for Dawson should Dawson come back?
He was told to bounce. Frost just did it in a good way for both parties.I just don't know what to think of this. We have heard Frost won't make any staff changes because he is too loyal. But it seems odd Dewitt would move laterally with a possible pay cut on his own.

Colman IMO would be a better choice but Polk would be fine. I expect Frost to look at multiple applicants though and not just hire somebody because he's a former Husker. Some former players are lobbying for Carlos Polk. He's coached special teams in the NFL for the last 10 years. Played LB but hasn't coached that position, and hasn't coached college so does not have recruiting connections.
Or just as an offensive analysts. Bama did that with Sarkisian, Oklahoma did it with Diaco.Could we see Helfrich come into the equation. Obviously not as a LB coach or SPecial teams coach. The opening does give other options.
-Like giving Polk a shot at LB coach as a GA... then Helfrich as a “co- OC” with Walters with the long term plan being one of them leaves next year and if Polk does a good job is hired as a full time coach
