Fran and the Illini assistants shaking hands

I don't cry about Frost's press conferences. I happen to like Frost very much and feel he is a great coach. Nebraska is my football team and Frost will bring Nebraska I believe all the way back. Ferentz I do think is a very good coach but when Iowa plays Nebraska it is Nebraska that I am...

Fran and the Illini assistants shaking hands

I was at the Michigan State game rooting Nebraska on at Michigan State. My son and I were there when Nebraska was entering the stadium with cheering Nebraska fans. Pelini never acknowledged the fans nor did any of his players who looked straight ahead and walked in. He had a (it's us against...

Fran and the Illini assistants shaking hands

I have been a Nebraska Football Fan for the last 60 years. Comparing Fran to Bo Pelini who I supported until his last year at Nebraska is absurd. Pelini turned the Nebraska players against the fans and was abusive to people who disagreed with him. His behavior on the sidelines was bad as was...

Fran and the Illini assistants shaking hands

I know nothing about this situation. My comments about Fran, where about Fran, not the latest incident against Illinois. He is a giant walking tantrum, game after game, season after season. I really don't know how you guys stomach it. Fran has had his moments in the past which are in the...

First Year Recruiting Comparison- Frost, Riley, Bo, Callahan

I posted the article to indicate that not everyone thought he sucked as you indicated. I didn't post it to indicate that he was a sure fire hire. The fact that LSU was willing to hire and make Saban the 3rd highest paid coach behind Bowden and Spurrier indicated that they didn't consider him a...

First Year Recruiting Comparison- Frost, Riley, Bo, Callahan

I agree with you that hindsight is 20/20. Coming off a 9-2 season where MSU knocks off Ohio State after being penalized for the first 2 years with 9 less scholarships gives Saban some coaching credibility. LSU paid him handsomely as well making him the third highest paid coach at the time...

First Year Recruiting Comparison- Frost, Riley, Bo, Callahan

People disagree with the assessment that LSU was taking a chance with the hiring of Saban. https://www.seccountry.com/alabama/nearly-20-years-later-nick-sabans-impact-still-being-felt-at-michigan-state

First Year Recruiting Comparison- Frost, Riley, Bo, Callahan

reality suggested Saban should have continued to suck, but a change of scenery made a big difference didn’t it? Reality suggested Hawkins should have torn it up at Colorado but he sucked. What gives? I bet you would have been screamingly rage had Saban been hired here. His previous stops had...

    OT recruits

Ferentz at Iowa has been very successful at converting TE's into OT. He recruited a player a few years ago from a small Iowa HS (Denison) and turned him into the 5th pick in the 1st round (Scherff). Back in 2004 Robert Gallery was the 2nd pick in the 1st round. He was from a town in Iowa...

    Thanksgiving 1971, where were you?

I was going to watch the whole game at my in laws house in Dubuque Iowa during my 1st year of marriage. My mother-in-law unfortunately had everything ready to eat at the same time of the start of the game. My wife insisted that I had to set at the table with everyone (the TV was downstairs)...

Three reasons why Nebraska beats penn state

    1. Penn State's soccer team shows up instead and we are able to beat them in overtime. 2. There is a torrential downpour during the whole game and no one is able to maintain their footing on the field. We score on a field goal before the rain starts and we win 3 to 0. 3. All the defensive...

Realistically, how good is our talent level for the new coach?

S&C plays into this as well. Comparing our OL to Wisconsin is very telling when looking at the player's listed weight as recruits and their current weight after a couple of years in the program. Wisconsin OL overall has added a lot more weight when compared to Nebraska's OL. We have players...

    Johnny Rodgers says

Johnny Rodgers played for Nebraska in the early 70's. That is > 45 years ago. Perhaps Riley's system would have been great during that time (he didn't start coaching until 1977 but wasn't a HC until 1987) but it hasn't been working here at Nebraska. Things have changed a lot since 1972. Back...

Nebraska plays their best game of the year. Nebraska 35 Purdue 14 Ozigbo runs for over 100 yards and Lee plays his best game of the year at QB.

Jim Walden: it's Scott Frost or Chip Kelly

I think that either will be a win-win. Personally, judging from Moos's choice of Leach at WSU, I think that Chip Kelly will be Nebraska's next HC. I will be ecstatic if Frost is selected instead but my hunch is that it will be Chip Kelly. We can't go wrong IMO with either as our next HC.

    Frost pros and cons?

As long as we can run the ball effectively on offense and not get steamrolled by the run on defense, I think that we would all be happy with that. Spielman was a great 3* recruit and will hopefully play a big role in whatever offense we go forward with in the future. If Frost becomes our...

    Frost pros and cons?

No. They have a very diversified offense with a lot of weapons on offense.Dobbins however has been very productive when he runs the ball. 7.8 yards a carry is pretty damn good.

    Frost pros and cons?

I think that #6 is very I think that #6 is very important to determine before a coach like Frost is hired. For those in the know, is Scott Frost an innovator on offense or was he putting out Kelly's offense without adding anything of his own? Tom Osborne did not have any head coaching...
