Poll: Does a Plan B exist?

Exactly After Osborne retired, the Nebraska football program should have implemented all out-moneys no object programs for finding the very best coaches and players (recruiting) for our program. They did neither. And after almost 20 years, they still haven't done it.

Poll: Does a Plan B exist?

Nebraska fans are smart. They know that the problems at Nebraska start at the top.

    Culture Fix

Dear 5, I have a huge favor to ask you. Would you mind getting your suitcase together, getting in your car and driving up to Lincoln to take care of this problem for us (the Nebraska football program). We currently have no one to do the job so we REALLY need your help. We cant pay you...

    Culture Fix

PELINI 2... the sequel. Same plot as the first Pelini horror movie. An active participant(s) inside the Nebraska football program is attempting to sabotage the program... unfortunately there is no one in a position of authority in the program who is adult enough or who has enough courage to...

    Alex Lewis will remain captain

Many of he same people who were making excuses when Pelini was trying to sabotage the program ... Are now making excuses for this. We have apparently learned NOTHING !

Riley didn't come here to win

I've never said fire him after 1 year. I have always said that 3 years is the magic number. We will know everything we need to know about M Riley at that point.

Riley didn't come here to win

No it doesn't. It gets rid of an underperforming coach who is dragging the program down. It also lets the coaching world know that Nebraska is looking for GREAT coaches, and if you are a great coach and want to get rich ($$$)... then this is the place for you. Keeping underperforming coaches...

    I like this board now.....

That's why I'm here. There are two kinds of people. Those who can think for themselves and have their own opinion... and those who want to be told what to think. This place is for those who can think for themselves and have their own opinion.

    Honeymoon over

100% correctamundo... thank you lordy... someone who gets it !!!!! I have been screaming this exact thing, at the top of my lungs, ever since I've been here. Ever since the exit of our great coach Tom Osborne, Nebraska has hired middling-mediocre coaches under the stupid notion that "WE...

Whats going on "behind the scenes"

Lewis should have never been on the team to begin with... that's on Pelini. Riley's weak-lack of responsibility response to Lewis's outburst 2 weeks ago in front of the whole world... that's on Riley. Failure heaped on top of failure. This is the result.

"throwing long bombs into a gale force wind"...

Yep. Thus the chorus of thousands of fans screaming... "run the ball". Instead we got long bombs into the wind.

    My Thoughts

After 3 years Riley will have been in charge of the Nebraska football program for 3 years. If he and his staff have not shown significant imporvements after 3 years on the job, then his tryout is over.

"throwing long bombs into a gale force wind"...

    Desperate and without options.
  18. H

    My Thoughts

Right, and that's the way it should be. Football is a performance sport. Players are judged every day on their performance. Perform at a high level or don't play. Same with coaches. This idea of hanging on to mediocre coaches is absurd.
  19. H

    My Thoughts

Oh yeah? Like your laughing means anything? 3 years max for an underperforming coach. Hanging on to underperforming coaches too long harms the program. It's nonsense.

    My Thoughts

3 years is the longest you keep an underperforming coach. Anything longer than that... and recruiting fails. We will know most everything we need to know about the new coaching staff by the end of this year. We will know all we need to know by the end of next year.
