the state of Ohio and OSU football

Being from Ohio, Cincinnati doesn’t have a big Ohio State fan base. Cincinnati doesn’t really see itself connected with the rest of Ohio. The Cleveland area has a good number of Michigan and Notre Dame fans, but OSU is the favorite. The passion for the Buckeyes however pales compared to the...

    Give Fickell a call

Nebraska certainly has the history, fan support, and commitment to football- but Cincinnati may be a better coaching situation. Better recruiting base and with the new 12 team playoff system, it may be easier to win the Big 12 or win enough games to be an at-large bid than many other P5...

    Fuck off big ten

The first targeting war correctly reversed. The next two by letter of the law were correctly called. I wish there was a differentiation between flagrant targeting and Non-flagrant as that would have made a difference. The refs missed Field’s knee going down too. I don’t think there was an...

    Justin Fields went vegan and

Anytime someone does a major change there could be consequences as well as upside. So we’ll see if the vegan The diet change and accompanying work out regimen is being done by the same people who oversaw JK Dobbins vegan transition last year, for what that’s worth. COVID or an injury can...

College Football Nerds Nebraska at OSU

I’m concerned. OSU should win, but there are several scenarios in which Nebraska can win. Add to that the pressure to win big which could turn the momentum if it doesn’t look like that is going to happen.

What is an acceptable result @OSU?

As an OSU fan I can’t say what would be acceptable to a Husker fan, but I can say it would be a disappointment for the Bucks to still be in a contested game late in the third and early fourth. So I would think that if it’s a disappointment for OSU, it must be a positive for Nebraska.

Is Nebraska still a Blue Blood program?

It depends. Are we talking Blue Bloods as fans or Blue Bloods on the field. As fans I think the answer is yes- as long as those old enough to remember the 90’s are still around. (I’m in that group). On the Field the answer is it no longer matters. Have you been a championship contender the...

    Fine Baum is an idiot

Sure you can apply the old, “They only win because they don’t care about academics”, even if the facts don’t reflect that. That has always been the excuse among college fans who think, “We would win too if we cheated like they did.”. That’s what opposing fan bases said about Nebraska in the...

OT - Men who have been separated/divorced

Was in a similar situation nearly 20 years ago. Wife and I together 12 years, 2 sons, no infidelity or abuse. Just drifted in different directions. There was a period of mixed emotions and messaging for both of us along the way. One day a good friend who had moved out of town a couple of year...

If you are an Ohio State or Michigan fan, do you…

Sexual crimes aren’t horrible and anyone committing them or enabling them should receive the appropriate consequences. Having said that, this thread really wasn’t started because of sexual crimes. It was started to make someone who isn’t happy with their favorite team’s football record, feel...

    Joe Burrow

As a sophomore, Burrow was ahead of Haskins, a freshman. In Burrow’s Junior year he had a hand injury that kept him out all season and Haskins became Barrett’s backup. The next year it was by the coaches account a very close competition and last year, Haskins was a better passer. So with what at...

Wisconsin will never win a national title

Goes back to the old adage- “You don’t have to be better to win, just better that day.” And add to that, “Sometimes you just have to be better on a handful of plays.”

    1ST HALF GAME THREAD!

If OSU scored Fields likely wouldn’t have played in the 2nd half. He still might not. Regardless, the coaches are calling the plays, the players are just running them. Nice of you to wish for a season ending injury. Have you noticed any of the OSU players taunting, or acting inappropriately?

    Interesting comment from Justin Fields

On-line classes are very common with some courses. Over the course of the year Fields will have to take classes on campus, but if during the football season he can load his schedule with on-line curriculum, that's a smart thing to do. As far as the Katzenmoyer reference above, he wasn't...

    Football Expectations Going Forward

Possibly, but all of them were head coaches at their respective programs because the previous coach couldn’t win a National Championship.

    Football Expectations Going Forward

There was a stretch there of college head coaches winning National Championships in Year 2 at a program. Bob Stoops at Oklahoma, Jim Tressel at OSU, and Urban Meyer at Florida, and Saban at Alabama, all did so. I think that started the 2 year expectation. Jimmy Johnson won in year 4 at Miami...
