    OT- Bitcoin

I had been waiting for a BTC pullback like we've had the last few days, and I still think there's room to run on the downside. I'm bullish on crypto for the long term, but one thing that does bother me is the correlation to the stock market. Right now, crypto basically behaves like a high beta...

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cnbc.com/amp/2021/02/17/blackrock-has-started-to-dabble-in-bitcoin-says-rick-rieder.html This is taking off a lot more quickly than I'd anticipated. BTC his $1 trillion market cap and now the largest asset manager in the world is getting involved. I still...

Lol, not threatened at all, just more curious why you are so infatuated with it when you don't have any skin in the game. That said, I've probably been a bit judgmental in my replies, so you do you and hope it works out for you.

You posted that Tesla declining 5% after a massive run up (and never mind that it's a high beta stock) in a day was bad for bitcoin. You've posted several times how bad it is, and comparer it to the Dutch Tulip mania and GME short squeeze. Fair to say you never explicitly said you don't like...

Dude, you're trying way too hard. We get it, you don't like bitcoin.

Good call, this has been fun to watch for sure.

Tesla put $1.5 billion in BTC. Apparently Elon wasn't smart enough to come over to our board and learn from Suhreal and westcoasthusker that bitcoin is just like the Dutch Tulip bubble or the gamestop short squeeze.

    OT: Ice baths

I've been doing this the last 2.5 weeks or so, read about it in the wim Hoff method. Worked my way up to 2 minutes, seems to be helping a lot in my joints, especially shoulders. And I just feel more energized in general after I finish the shower.

OT: Must-read article for anyone exposed to cryptocurrency such as Bitcoin

Agreed. I don't doubt there are some bad actors in the crypto space, but I don't think that changes the long-term prospects of the USD. Crypto is definitely in bubble territory now, it's hard to know how much of the run-up is due to retail investors using leverage for short-term speculation...

    We should be playing today

Well, he could always tell me how bitcoin is rat poison and worth less than a Tulip bulb, but then offer to buy a put at 10% above the price that expires in 10 years. Oh wait, he already did that in another thread...

    We should be playing today

On the positive side, if we were playing, I suspect there would be the same frustration and anger at the play calling, turnovers, and mental mistakes that have plagued the team over the past 3 years.

He's just making an assumption for inflation. Apparently, inflation didn't exist when he and west coast were saying Bitcoin is rat poison or would be $0.01, but it came into existence when asked to make a prediction for the price of bitcoin in 2030.

Definitely do your own research on this, but I think a lot of the cryptocurrencies available now basically live up to the term "shitcoin" that some people call them. My regret is that when I started buying crypto in late spring/ early summer is that I was trying to diversify across projects, and...

Lol, I get the inflation piece, that's the main reason I even said I hold some bitcoin! Maybe we end it here, good luck to you!

I'm having a hard time why you want to keep using derivatives in the conversation. I thought our disagreement is what bitcoin is worth and what the price will be in the future ( west coast mentioned 10 year options). Now based on the strike price you want to use, you're saying you expect...

    OT- Bitcoin

Sorry, I think i was replying to Suhrreal's post when you posted this. I'm assuming you mean a European style option, so similar to what I proposed to Suhrreal, why don't we just make a bet on the price of bitcoin on 12/31/2030? I proposed today's price to him, but i think you've been more...

    OT- Bitcoin

I guess I don't get why I would agree to a put that's in the money now, I guess I sell you an in the money put and buy from you an in the money call? Or we could just make it a little simpler, and say the bet is whether bitcoin will be above or below the price today, $28.7k on 12/31/2030. But...

    OT- Bitcoin

I don't disagree that buying a put is a synthetic way to be short the underlying asset, im just stating that it's odd to need a strike price above the current price when he was so confident in saying things like it's rat poison and worth less than a Tulip bulb. It's already in the money right...

    OT- Bitcoin

Didn't you just say Bitcoin is worth less than tulips? Why would you need put with a strike price roughly 10% above the current price if its rat poison?
