HELP: HuskerOnline.com Forum Rules
We felt it was time for simplification of the HuskerOnline.com board rules so that they are easily understandable for everyone and we take the gray area out of them. Going forward this is what it is important to remember while posting on RSS or any of our message boards:
1. Every member of HuskerOnline.com will be treated equally and there will be no favoritism shown toward anyone regarding the board rules and what we expect of those who wish to contribute to the discussion on our forums.
2. All substantive discussion about Nebraska football and sports will be allowed on RSS, as long as you keep things civil and take the personal aspect out of it. When we say "personal aspect" we mean that the personal lives of any Nebraska coach, recruit/player and their families, or your fellow board members is completely off limits for discussion. we're also taking the shackles off the previous restriction on rumors of inside information -- that is as long as it comports to not being of a personal nature.
3. Be civil with and respectful of everyone you interact with on HOL.com. That means no name calling or personal insults will be tolerated.
4. Trolling to get a reaction from a certain segment of Husker fans will be given short leash. Hijacking of threads would also fall under this category. As a member of RSS, feel free to express your opinion, but there is no need to make excessive negative/positive posts or to start multiple negative/positive threads. You can express your opinion, but do so in a manner that is not excessive or in a manner that adds clutter to the overall discussion on the board. Our monitors will know when you go too far and they will take appropriate action.
5. No posting of pornography, racist or off color material.
6. We expect you to treat all of our board monitors with respect as they do a very difficult job on a volunteer basis. If you have a problem with any of them then e-mail them personally or contact one of our HOL staff members.
7. We want RSS to be a forum where all opinions are welcomed and shared, even if they be strongly held views. You have to be an adult to join HOL/RSS so if strongly held and differing opinions upset you, then this may not be the place for you. You have the discretion to read or ignore anything or anyone that is posted on our boards. so do not complain when you encounter opinions that vary from yours.
8. All partisan political topics are completely off limits. This also goes for heated religious discussions. During the summer months some leniency will be shown in this regard, but other than that please keep all of these discussions off of our website.
9. Terms of service. By subscribing, registering or using the sites, you agree that Rivals and or the publisher(s) and board moderators of the sites have the right, in addition to other rights, to delete your posts or blacklist you or any other user at any time, if they believe that action is in the best interest of the sites, for whatever reason, and the reason need not be disclosed.
In short, don't be shortsighted with your posting and don't be a jerk while interacting with your fellow board members. If HuskerOnline.com and Red Sea Scrolls are not your cup of tea, we wish you well as you please quietly take your business to a site more suitable to your tastes.
