Skinny Bones

I dunno if anyone likes going to Pumpkin Patches this time of year. But, this place was pretty great.

I grew up going to Roca Scary Farm, but it really lacked. It is what it is.

The goats and donkeys were cute. Massive turkey strutting around - probably how they get their giant smoked turkey legs.

Lots of cool slides. Bonfires were legit.

I challenge you to hit the hole in one at the corn cannon.

Target shopping...

I was at target today. pretty disappointing experience. they didn't have the butter i wanted, and they didn't have the bacon i wanted. at least i was able to get milk. 😐

i also noticed the long line at Starbucks. i asked my wife, what kind of dipshlt waits in line to get some Starbucks? i know it's common there, but it still blows my mind. Starbucks is gross.

Janiran Bonner

22 HS WRs recruited by Frost. Bonner is the only one left

I see he is listed as a 220lb RB now (up 23 pounds from his recruitment page). I noticed he was recruited by Joseph which carries a lot more weight to me then a Frost recruit. He is arguably our best recruit from that class. So my basic question to anyone is...
What happened here? Why can't we find a way to get him involved or is he simply a bust?

Football Column: Big-picture look at what's now possible in Year 1 of Matt Rhule

Wrote some stuff in the wee-morning hours after the 'Skers beat the 'Cats, and I think you should read it.

Driving on I-80…

Driving to Lincoln and back this weekend…I know this makes me sound like an old man (I am actually, but try not to act like it)…the scenery along the Platte River with trees and bushes in the background and the fields of soybeans, corn, milo in the foreground was breathtakingly beautiful this weekend. Add in the picturesque farms and grain bins and it was Nebraska as pretty as you will ever see it. I’m tempted to go out and try to capture some photos this week…something I never do. The harvest crew will never miss me!

OT - Your Top 3 Airports Domestic / International & Why

Domestic:

Portland Oregon - Just for the fact you can get a drink at 5am. Terminals also setup very easy and never really that long of lines
Chicago O'Hare - Has a really fantastic United Club and really good options for food and drink.
Anchorage, AK - I love the food in this place. Always had a crab and reindeer sausage omelet. Also enjoy Silver Gulch beer and they have a spot there. Humpy's is fantastic as well.

International:

Dubai: The nicest airport I've ever been in. Everything is immaculate.
Munich / Frankfurt: Just love being able to have German beer in an Airport. The Lufthansa Lounge is great as well.
Istanbul: Very large airport, but surprisingly easy to navigate. Also easy to get a cheap decent tasting Efes Beer.

Recruiting 2025 EDGE Uchenyo Ojata feels at home in Lincoln after offer

Class of 2025 EDGE Uchenyo Ojata was one of the players in the house yesterday for Nebraska's conference game win over Northwestern. He went back to Indiana holding an offer from the Huskers.

Ojata told me that he loved Lincoln and it felt like home to him. The thing that made it special and feel like home was his time with the coaching staff and other recruits. He especially liked his time with tight commit Carter Nelson and quarterback commit Daniel Kaelin. He went to the volleyball match with them and the trio hung out after the match was over too.

The Huskers do like him on the DL or at the Jack position. He was able to spend time with both defensive line coach Terrance Knighton and linebackers coach Rob Dvoracek. Ojata loved what he saw from the Blackshirts on Saturday.

"I’m feeling great about playing in that defense it would be amazing!"

Ojata has the look of a player that is going to see his recruiting profile rise over the coming months. As he evaluates future schools he is looking for a place that has a family setting and feels like home.

So a 2* commit flips to his home state. I’ll tell you who IS STAYING home and with his commitment -

Carter Nelson.
Bet the farm.

Some kids have Parents and Grandparents who have instilled in them something akin to what President Kennedy called for when - using the line his brother Bobby had written for him and the occasion - he said, ~“Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.”

Well, there is more to life, even a young 18year old’s life, than just what might be ‘best’ for him, by some lower frequency measure.

There is the home state program that needs Carter to stay home and help us rebuild. And I believe he knows it in his heart of hearts.
He’ll become a star in Lincoln and across the state and beyond that no amount of misplaced ‘yeah but a degree from ND is SO much better’ nonsense will cloud his judgement.

It’s gonna be Epic.
Bet the farm.
GBR!!!
