Purdue

I watched the highlights of Purdue's last three games and have the following observations for what they're worth.

- Card is the best QB we will face so far except for JJ McCarthy.
_ Card has pretty good speed and is somewhat of running threat.
-Purdue has a couple of WRs who are very fast and can make big plays.
-Their RBs are big and powerful but are not that fast. They also seem to be pretty good receivers out of the backfield,
-Their defense seems to me to be pretty average.

Outside of Michigan, this will be our biggest challenge. With all our injuries, the odds would be no better than a toss-up imo.

Good stuff from Tony White today. Liked his thoughts on how Nebraska's offense has helped his defense prepare each week.

Purdue going to be without……

Their Right tackle and guard this weekend per their report yesterday, the writers on this board hopefully can confirm but this game, the weather, the injuries is going to makes this UGLY and ugly has been winning for us!

I believe the two young mens names are Moussa and Griffin.

Field position is going to be paramount, who pins who deeper and then is forced to punt….into the wind!

I think it’s going to be whose defense or special teams scores this Saturday, not sure what the under number is but can‘t see more than 30 combined points.

Damn, as if the O wasn’t hamstrung enough

Now we’re down two more O starters. Granted, the OL wasn’t anything to write home about to begin with, but crap…how many more injuries can our O sustain. We can barely put points on the board to begin with.

The D has been amazing, but how long can they sustain their current level. I worry that we just won’t be able to hold down Purdue enough to get the W. 17 points is t going to cut it this weekend.

Recruiting Nebraska DB commit Evan Taylor has amazing experience in Lincoln

North Carolina defensive back Evan Taylor joined the Huskers' recruiting class back in June. The Huskers quietly coveted the North Carolina defender all cycle because of his great length and athleticism. This weekend he was in Nebraska for his first game day experience in Lincoln. It could not have gone better for the North Carolina native.

"My trip was amazing," Taylor said. "I'm glad I got to experience the game-day atmosphere for the first time. I really enjoyed it!"

This was the first time since his official visit in June that Taylor was in Nebraska. It's always different coming back as commit. There were several things that stood out to him most about the trip.

"My favorite part was before the game started and looking around to see the fans all packed up in the stadium," Taylor said. "I'm also glad that I got speak more with the other recruits and the coaches. Just creating stronger relationships. Ready for what the future holds!"

I did spot Taylor on crutches during pre game when he was on the field with other recruits. He injured his knee early in his senior season but says rehab is coming along well. Taylor will be in Lincoln this January as an early enrollee and hopes to be cleared for workouts by then.

Taylor did love being able to see another dominating performance by Tony White's defense. The eight sacks and and 13 tackles for loss were a season-high. That fired the defender up.

"I'm really loving what I see from the defense," Taylor said. "Can’t wait to be apart of it."
