I want to think it’s better to not be rash with changing coaches, particularly head coaches. Perhaps that is the Solich/Pelini effect.
But we are 1.75 seasons into this tenure, and the HC just realized that his entire plan isn’t good enough, and he needs outside consulting to buy a clue about what to do next. He was hired on the notion that he’s a proven talent at building programs, but he can’t recognize problems before his nose is rubbed in it. And then he needs consultants on how to clean his nostrils.
