Matt Rhule Presser 11/14/24

WTF... the Nebraska media covering the Rhule press conferences are so weak. They're all on their knees bowing down to Rhule. Need a Peter Doocy type asking questions. See if they can get Rhule to lose his shit and throw something and then storm off.
I think every win by Foster, Sanders and Cignetti have shined the light more and more on Matt.

I can't imagine how Matt would begin to answer a press question like this,

"Looking at CU, IND, and UCLA, three completely different programs, three different personality types as their HC, all improving from week after week.
Everything they have, we have more and we have better.
Why are we having so much trouble getting this thing turned around?"

Now that would be a tough question to answer on the podium right now.

In a market so heavily dominated by NU sports, you will never find media willing to risk being frozen out by NU coaches. So a few of them may grumble on podcasts and YouTube videos but almost all of their questions directed to coaches are soft as Charmin.

Tampering with Raiola

I don’t think he’s regressed as much as he’s gotten beaten up and DCs have figured out how to defense him. Illinois showed everybody that Satt doesn’t have a workable plan for blitz packages. He’s a freshman QB. I predicted 1.6 INTs per game. I think he’s been a little better than that but B1G DCs have abused him. Not probably his or Thomas’s fault.
Big 10 coordinators do not miss anything when it comes to identifying weaknesses in a player's game. Raiola likes to take his time and pick his throw. When he's pressured he misses wide-open guys and makes poor decisions. Satt never helped him by scheming to what the defense was doing. I also can't tell if Raiola's head is fully there since the Illinois game, but at times he just hasn't looked like he's confident and reading the defense.

Volleyball Reilly and Rodriguez named semifinalists for AVCA National Player of the Year

Reilly, Rodriguez Named Semifinalists for AVCA Player of the Year Award
Huskers.com

The AVCA Division I Player of the Year Watch List was narrowed down to 14 semifinalists on Thursday.

Nebraska senior libero Lexi Rodriguez and sophomore setter Bergen Reilly were two of the 14 players still included on the Watch List. However, players who aren't among the 14 semifinalists can still be added as finalists in December.

Nebraska and Pittsburgh were the only schools with multiple players named semifinalists. The 2024 AVCA Player of the Year will be announced on Friday, Dec. 20, in Louisville, Ky, during the AVCA Convention.

Bergen Reilly, So., Setter
• Reilly ranks sixth nationally with 11.12 assists per set this season, and she has 13 double-doubles.
• Reilly was the Big Ten Setter of the Year in 2023, becoming the first freshman to win the award since it originated in 2012. Reilly was also an AVCA second-team All-American and an All-Big Ten first-team selection.
• Reilly led all Big Ten setters with 10.51 assists per set in 2023, and she has received seven career Big Ten Setter of the Week honors, including on Sept. 2, Sept. 16 and Oct. 14 this season.
• Reilly was named Best Setter at the AVCA First Serve Showcase in Louisville, Ky., as she guided the Huskers to a 3-1 win over No. 9 Kentucky with 39 assists and 11 digs.

Lexi Rodriguez, Sr., Libero
• Rodriguez is in her final year of a stellar career as the Huskers’ libero. A four-year starter and a three-year team captain, Rodriguez will go down in history as one of the all-time greats in Nebraska volleyball history.
• Rodriguez has 1,731 career digs entering Thursday’s match against Minnesota, which ranks No. 2 in school history. U.S. Olympian Justine Wong-Orantes is the career leader in digs at NU with 1,890.
• On Sept. 30, Rodriguez was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week. She averaged 4.71 digs per set in the first weekend of conference play, helping the Huskers hold UCLA and USC to season-low hitting percentages at the time.
• On Nov. 11, Rodriguez earned Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week for the seventh time in her career, as she averaged 4.17 digs per set to help the Huskers to strong defensive performances in sweeps at No. 12 Oregon and Washington.
• Rodriguez is a three-time AVCA All-American, earning first-team honors in 2021 and 2023, and second-team honors in 2022. She will look to join Kadie Rolfzen (2013-16) and Sarah Pavan (2004-07) as the only four-time All-Americans in program history.
• Rodriguez made her mark instantly as a freshman in 2021, earning AVCA National Freshman of the Year and Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year. Over the last two seasons, Rodriguez has guided the Huskers to the No. 1 defense in the country, earning Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year again in 2023 to become the fifth player in Big Ten history to receive the honor twice in a career.

Matt Rhule Presser 11/14/24

Rhule has a tough job if he wants to get back to dr. tom championship football, I'm thinking more solich championship football..
he's having to fix a long line of non championship football..callahan, bo, riley, frost..

I think he's doing ok except simms and the oc..
he has a defense unlike callahan,
he not a head case like bo,
he's not a retirement case like riley,
and he's of sober mind...

I like his organizational skills and his efforts in recruiting.
the key here is holgerson and special teams
if the offense and special teams can help the defense during game day, on the gridiron..
I can see solich championship football at the end of the tunnel
I think dr. tom championship football is a thing of the past, with the nil, the transfers and the all around feminization of college football.
when busing with the boys asked the don if he can make Nebraska football great again...he automatically pointed to the quite professionalism of dr. tom without hesitation...

I'm not putting all that on rules shoulders...but solich championship football can be had if:
HC rhule, OC holgerson, DC white all move in one accord...and the addition of special teams...
the players play with pride, and smash thru the fear, uncertainty and dought, and grasp victory from the jaws of defeat.
and the fan base grow a bit of a pair, and not go into chernoble melt down, during a rough patch...
