Biggest Surprises
NEBRASKA
The Cornhuskers have taken a nice step forward in Will Bolt's fourth season at the helm. Bolt led Nebraska to a regional final in 2021, his first full season (after debuting in the abbreviated 2020 campaign), but the Huskers missed regionals in the next two seasons, and expectations were modest heading into this spring. But at the season's halfway point, the Huskers have emerged as the Big Ten's top regional hosting candidate, with a 20-6 overall record and a No. 13 RPI, with a nice nonconference resume that includes series wins at Grand Canyon, College of Charleston, and Wichita State as well as home series wins vs. South Alabama and Nicholls State.
