So far Oregon St. 5, Nebraksa 3

OSU's results given the draft picks they had isn't very impressive. On the other side, most of this year's draft comes from the 2010 and 2011 recruiting classes. Nebraska was ranked #22 and #15 in those classes and Oregon State was #44 and #56.

Does Riley get criticism for not getting better results considering the picks, or praised for developing such little-hyped players into picks? Both?

Anyone know what the other Pac 12 schools had drafted? Is 5 a lot or in the middle or low?

I just checked, looks like USC and Stanford both had 6 players drafted. OSU was next with 5 drafted.

Heres the deal; OSU has not had the depth, but coach Riley has really developed talent. The o-line averaged 2.5 players getting some conference honors annually; other positions similar; amazing. I think coach has an even more enhanced staff for player development; our facilities and AD drive the tops. So much bodes well; we will really break out in the qb position also; the breaks are when, not if ;)

This. Beamer said it after we kicked VT's ass several years back. It's all about depth. He thought his #1's were pretty comparable, but that they had nowhere the depth to hang with us. Reilly's said as much himself, even though we still have depth issues. It has been an issue all through the Pelini era. Hopefully all depth issues will be cleaned up by 2017 season, which will be fun:

Charlie Bo is better with the 3 figure over Coach Mike's 1; only after you run the info through the Pelinatrollatron machine: this machine spits out product long after the object of its affection is gone - like brother Carl's

OSU was doing well last season until their top 2 DTs got cheap shoted at USC and were lost for the season. The O-line had their top two out to injury and had other injuries and medical retirements.

The season and game turned for OSU in the USC game. USC had 13 rushing yards in the first half before the two injuries. They had 187 rushing yards in the second half.

As others have said. OSU just didn't have the quality depth to deal with those injuries.

Of Oregon States 5 draft picks, Alexander and Murphy were injured throughout the season and Gwacham was in his first season as a DE switching from WR. He had the physical tools but was very green and learning as the season went along. If he would have started his college career at DE he likely would have been drafted much higher.

1. OSU didn't have the depth.

2. How is that a cheap shot? It's a cut block.

Guess 2014 was a bust

Nice to see you around again. I thought you were gone after the half dozen five stars who were committing to UM when Harbaugh was hired didn't pan out.

Can you reveal who your inside sources were telling you they were, and why it might have fallen through? Thanks!

Also interesting that Oregon State
has had over a dozen all america selections since Riley returned.
