Nebraska’s matchup at Miami on Sept. 19 from Sun Life Stadium has been set for a 2:30 p.m. CT kickoff (3:30 local time in Florida). The game will be televised nationally by ABC or ESPN2 depending on which region of the country.

The game will be Mike Riley’s first road game as Nebraska’s head coach and will complete a home-and-home series between the college football powers. Nebraska defeated the Hurricanes, 41-31, in Lincoln last season to gain a 6-5 advantage in the all-time series between the schools.

Nebraska will be facing Miami in its home stadium for the fifth time since the 1983 season. However, the previous four matchups all occurred in the Orange Bowl game at the old Orange Bowl. Nebraska’s only previous regular-season road game at Miami in 1951 marked first-ever meeting between the schools.

The Huskers’ will be playing at Sun Life Stadium for the third time in school history. Nebraska won back-to-back Orange Bowls in the stadium following the 1996 and 1997 seasons, defeating Virginia Tech and Tennessee. The win over Tennessee gained Nebraska its third national championship in four seasons.

Friday’s game time announcement of the game time with Miami is the third known kickoff time in the non-conference season. The Huskers’ Sept. 12 game against South Alabama in Lincoln will kick off at 7 p.m. and be televised by BTN. NU’s Sept. 26 Homecoming matchup with Southern Miss is set for an 11 a.m. kickoff. A game time and television information for the Sept. 5 home opener with BYU is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
