Lincoln native and former Husker Joba Chamberlain has agreed to a minor-league deal with the Toronto Blue Jays, according to the New York Post.
The Lincoln Northeast graduate is expected to join the Blue Jays' Triple-A team in Buffalo.
Chamberlain, 29, was released by the Tigers earlier this month after posting a 4.09 earned-run average in 22 innings. He started his career with the New York Yankees.
Toronto is looking to bolster its pitching staff. Entering Tuesday, the Jays' pitchers had combined 4.10 ERA.
