“You wanna be a 10 win team and you’re spending in the middle of your conference.” Nebraska 12th out of the 18 teams that will make up the new B1G

Nebraska has an assistant coach salary pool of $7M. The top 4 spenders nationally are over $9M. Some like Wisconsin are doing it on the cheap with a pool of $5.4M but even Michigan State was giving Mel Tucker $7.5M before he got fired after upping his pool by $1.5M when he redid his contract...

Next year’s starting QB is not currently on the team

Wouldn't shock me in the slightest if they go get Pavia from New Mexico State.

    Legislating NIL money…

So county scholarships? Hilarious what used to be a meme would now be perfectly viable and legal.😄

    Apathy

There is a lot of apathy, but most people would have likely stayed longer if it wasn't 98° and the sun wasn't frying all of us. I really hope part of the stadium project is looking at adding weather cover, particularly for the balcony seats. Sort of like what Oregon has on Autzen.

Gophers planning Gold out game against Nebraska

Cool. Gold makes Red stand out really well.

    If you like Klieman

Missouri won the College World Series once back in the 1950's.

    Fanbase Size?

I don't know where they are getting their numbers but they aren't credible. Wisconsin doesn't have twice the fanbase size of Nebraska unless most Wisconsin fans never watch Wisconsin football on TV. Wisconsin Football TV ratings are not on par with Nebraska's. Wisconsin is on par with Iowa and...

Time to pump the breaks on this seasons expectations?

Based on the projected depth chart our first string offense and defense consist of: 1 ***** 13 **** 7 *** 1 ** (Nouili - our best returning lineman) 1 unranked (Reimer - our best returning linebacker) Talent isn't the problem. Coaching and development has been. If those are fixed this team...

We used to have Dudes . .

Man injury destroyed that team in what could have been a phenomenal year. The defensive trio of Crick, David and Dennard was the backbone of a defense that needed to be great though and it just was unfortunate that those three guys never had a single game when all three were available that season.

    Are Conferences necessary anymore?

The entire reason we were put on PPV so much was that we would consistently draw big numbers of viewers. Nebraska's games on PPV would outdraw the other Big 12 games they put on free TV. Drawing a 2.0+ rating for ppv football was unheard-of and you would have been laughed at to suggest it was...

Trev talks renovations for Memorial stadium. Turns 100 this fall

Along with the moderization project, (which I hope includes a rebuild of south stadium) and a complete overhaul of the internet and wifi network to better tech), I would love them to finish the facade around the corners while adding enough structural support for some restroom facilities...

Big 12 vs PAC 12: Who is in better shape?

That's such a misleading and terrible statistic to use as a metric. That has more to do with the fact that of the top 25 largest college basketball arenas by capacity only 2 are in the Big 12 (and are #22and #23) as it does with anything else.

Does Fred Hoiberg keep his job?

He's +5 on last year with a roster noone expected would even win a single conference game. GTFO. There's actually some momentum right now.

Can we at least agree this is pretty shitty?

Since when is killing a Bald Eagle only a misdemeanor? That's a felony rap.

Big 12 vs PAC 12: Who is in better shape?

Basketball is completely irrelevant to conference and network negotiations. The only thing that anyone cares about is the Tournament and that revenue is separate from those. In 21-22 the highest rated regular season game was Duke vs North Carolina. Coach K's final home game and a big upset. It...

    FSU to the BIG

Incorrect again. There's a specific line regarding Notre Dame, but it's not the only one.
  17. Blackshirt316

    FSU to the BIG

Incorrect. The Big Ten's media contract has an escalator clause with multiple provisions that increase the payout rate depending on exactly which schools and how many are added built into it. They set it up with expansion fully on the table.

No one will poach from the ACC for at least another 10 years

Notre Dame is #1 on the still available list but #2 is North Carolina and the gap between #2 and #3 is huge. #3 and #4 are Miami and Texas A&M if A&M is on the table. But you are correct that the Irish aren't going to join a conference until they are forced to. There's only two ways that...

    Most improved positions 2023

If both TE's are healthy then they are the answer by a huge margin. Two future NFL starters if they can figure their issues out. But honestly it would be more difficult to find the position that ends up worse than last year. Though I expect it's probably Dline just on scheme alone.

Mrs Rhule: "Don't Screw This Up"

That's one heck of a logical fallacy you made there. Osborne didn't win a conference championship until his 9th year. Pelini won 3 division titles in his first 6-7 years. As if those are in any way even close to being comparable. I mean by that metric Osborne would have won the Big 12 North...
